The poor fat man never saw it coming.

I am sure that Santa Claus had his life flash before his eyes as a soccer ball cam racing toward him, ending what would have otherwise been a magical holiday season. A moment of silence for this hilarious Christmas video via Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli.

The video is counter to just about everything that you have seen this season. It seems every team in pretty much every sport has a holiday greeting video that borders on uber lame.

Instead of going the usual route and filling a couple minutes with horrible carol singing, the German side decided to go with a sketch that deals with the death of Santa Claus but is in no way macabre.

The video starts with St. Nick sleighing down a road close to the St. Pauli practice pitch, just like any other day in Claus’ Christmas Day preparations. While the elves are breaking their necks back at the North Pole, this fat guy is gallivanting around Germany. For shame.

Karma then springs up in the form of an errant soccer ball that domes Claus in the face. The jolly ol’ fella is thrown from the sled and pronounced dead at the scene.

At least, that is what I assume happened after the club decided who is at fault for what should be a felony charge of Santa-cide.

So if you wake up in a couple days with nothing under your tree, please don’t assume that you were ignored due to being naughty all year. Chin up, because it just means that Santa Claus is dead, and FC St. Pauli killed him.
