    Features

    data visualization

    Advanced Data Visualization

Within Grapheme, charts and tables are interconnected. This assures that charts are updated every time data are filtered or changed from within project Tables. Moving from this concept, Grapheme brings you fully interactive and responsive charting capabilities. Additionally, Grapheme enables data-mining thanks to:

    • Indexing: i.e. Grapheme capability to define an index between the rows of two or more tables, linking and gathering data together;
    • Metadata: i.e. Grapheme capability to link table rows with external data, such as images, files, etc.

    Statistical analysis

Statistical Analysis and Six-Sigma Control Panels

The Statistical Analysis Module is designed to perform statistical analysis within Grapheme moving from the data stored in the project tables. The module is built around the concept of user friendly and intuitive Statistical Panels. Step-by-step Wizards guide the user in setting up and performing Statistical Analysis such as: Descriptive Analysis, One Sample T- and Z-Test, Two Samples T-Test, Correlation Analysis, Covariance Analysis, Normality Test, Paired T-Test, One way ANOVA, One way ANOVA test, Two way ANOVA.

    Response Surfaces and Regression

Design of Experiments and Response Surfaces

The Response Surface Module allows defining Design of Experiments and creating Response Surfaces moving from the data stored in the project. User friendly and intuitive Wizards guide the user in the step-by-step creation and validation of Response Surfaces using the available best in class methodologies:

    • Design of Experiments: Box Behnken, D-Optimal, Latin Cubes, Latin Squares, Montecarlo, Sobol, Taguchi
    • Response Surfaces: K-Nearest, Kriging, Radial Basis Functions, Polynomial, Neural Networks

    Data Analysis Chain

    Data Analysis Chains

Grapheme brings you – as part of the Professional and Enterprise Editions – easy-to-use and well documented tools to work with external data sources. Our Data Analysis Taskflow allows you to chain data manipulation tasks on imported data. Thanks to this chaining technology you will be able to visually manipulate huge set of data so to extract and visualize meaningful set of information. With the data analysis Taskflow you will be in control of your data, in real time, without need to be a proficient data-analyst or developer. Data analysis has never been so easy.

    INDEXING AND STATISTICAL PANELS

Grapheme brings you fully interactive and responsive charting capabilities

charts and tables are interconnected so that charts are updated every time data are filtered or changed

the Statistical module covers Descriptive analysis, T- and Z-Tests, Correlation, Covariance, ANOVA, MANOVA, PCA and many more

DATABASE CONNECTORS AND DATA ANALYSIS CHAINS

The Enterprise Release of Grapheme includes dedicated connectors to external data-sources such as SQL databases:

    Grapheme

    5.0/5

Review by Alexandra Petrache on October 2, 2020

Grapheme is a super-complex and solid app that allows performing extensive statistical analysis, plus database and task flow editing. At the same time, the powerful program enables impressive 2D and 3D visual representations and granular data filtering and manipulation.

Creating projects or importing sets of data

Upon creating a new project, the user must opt for one of the program’s six options: Database Explorer, Grapher Macros, Statistical Analysis, Grapher, Response Surfaces, or Taskflow Editor. Regardless of the chosen option, all the data that was inserted alongside filters, settings, arrangements, and diagrams/statistical charts are saved in a project directory that contains all the resources neatly structured in distinct subdirectories.

Importing data and managing or editing databases or external sources can be done as well (SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Firebird, Postgres, etc). The tool must be up to date and its components must be in place. As a result, the data can be accurately displayed and filtered inside the program. From the top bar, in the ‘Help’ section, users must select, consecutively, the following options: ‘Check for updates’ (in case you did not install the latest version) and ‘Install New Software’ — the last one will install all the necessary components for adding and accurately managing newly imported files.

    Main features and distinctive advantages

Grapheme is a complex tool that displays, in a calibrated manner, 2D and 3D interactive charts. Its flexible mechanisms enable access to different statistical analysis panels — like Six-Sigma, Clustering, and Regressions algorithms. Moreover, charts and tables get interconnected, so attaching in-chart data to external resources or references can be done easier. In this way, Grapheme enables examining and filtering existing large datasets for generating new ones.

The program is capable of both sustaining and training users’ effort of creating and using the response surface methodology (a methodology used in statistical analysis that explores the correlation between analytical and response variables). Some of the available response surface algorithms offered by the program are K-Nearest, Kriging, Radial Basis Functions, Polynomial, and Neural Networks.

When it comes to evaluating complex data sets, planning, and interpreting the results, the DOE (Design of Experiments) module enables access to the following design principles: Box Behnken, D-Optimal, Latin Cubes, Latin Squares, Montecarlo, Sobol, and Taguchi. Furthermore, with the ‘Data Analysis Taskflow’ feature, information can be chained for visually manipulating imported datasets.

    Conclusion

Considering Grapheme’s complexity and varied capabilities (alongside its rich documentation), the tool is well suited for both experienced data analysts and beginners, as it allows using advanced data manipulation techniques and creating visually appealing models.

Grapheme is a feature-rich application that allows users to generate and analyze graphical representations of data sets. You can use the program to generate scatter plots, 2D and 3D graphs, as well as charts.

With complex data filtering and manipulation functions, Grapheme allows for intuitive usage offering the ability to generate multiple graphs in the same project.

2D charts include lines, bubble, parallels, gradient, pie, bar, scatter and models. The 3D view also includes scatter, bubble and gradient models but also a colored surface scheme.

The app’s Chart Explorer shows the types of graphs you can create with Grapheme, and you can view the representation for any selected item in the preview area.

Furthermore, you can import data from various file formats such as CSV, Excel spreadsheets and Matlab files. Data can also be extracted from Direbird, PostgresSQL, SQLite and MySQL database servers.
