Developer’s Description
Make dealing with delimited or fixed-width files easy with File Query. Open files of ANY size, and use File Query to view, query, analyze or modify them. With File Query, there is no setup (except field locations for fixed files). Just open and go. Easily view delimited files in even columsn, find records that match any criteria, find dulicate values, get all distinct values of a field, modify the field layout or get aggregate field-level info (empty value count, min/max length, character types, etc. ) from all fields in a single report. Anything you can do in a database with SQL, you can now do directly with a file
Download query data
After building your query, you can download its data in multiple formats. This is useful when you need to back up data before the data retention period expires, analyze data outside of Devo, or create specific graphics and reports.
Visit any query page and click the horizontal ellipsis (…
) above the query editor. Then choose Show API Key. The links in the modal that appears always point to the latest query result. You can choose between CSV and JSON formats to be returned by the API call.
Downloading a single record from a website is easy, but downloading many records at a time – an increasingly frequent need for a historian – is much more efficient using a programming language such as Python. In this lesson, we will write a program that will download a series of records from the Old Bailey Online using custom search criteria, and save them to a directory on our computer.
