System Explorer

System Explorer

System Explorer

System Explorer provides in-depth monitoring of your system performance. You can view tasks, processes, and machine history. For performance junkies, this program should provide just the right fix.

PROS

Tabbed navigation: System Explorer’s tabbed navigation structure breaks down the program functions logically. Four tabs along the top of the screen are home to your tasks, processes, performance, and history views. This makes it quick to flip back and forth between the four of them.

In-depth performance monitor: The in-depth performance info will most interest power users. Beyond memory usage and CPU load information, it also offers info about input/output and pages faulted.

CONS

Drag and drop: System Explorer has a message at the bottom of the screen that says you can drag and drop “any” file there to get information about it. However, no matter how many files we dragged there, no information of any kind was displayed.

Lack of help: There was no real comprehensive help or support associated with the product. The many customization options are fairly enigmatic, so a tutorial explaining them could be very helpful.

BOTTOM LINE

If you’re looking for a complete monitoring solution for your workstation, System Explorer is an option well worth considering.
