StartUp Tool
Most PCs load a bunch of useless stuff each time they start: launchers, control panels, you name it. StartUp Tool lets you take back your boot processs. It’s only a bit more full-featured than Msconfig (which is to say not very), but it does allow you to disable or remove items that automatically launch with Windows. However, unlike similar programs, it doesn’t recommend which files to keep or delete. Nor does it let you change the order in which they start. All in all, StartUp Tool is best suited to intermediate users plagued by free-riding start-up files (QuickTime, we’re looking at you).
