IZArc2Go
Lightweight, fast, and completely portable, IZArc2Go can live on a USB drive, yet still create and extract nearly every type of archive file. A plain but well-rendered interface is all business and offers drag and drop, customizable toolbars, Classic and Explorer layouts, and many languages (including a setup option). It encrypts and decrypts, converts CD images, and creates and merges multi-volume sets. IZArc2Go also imports and exports settings and supports UU/XX/MIME encoding.
PROS
Portable freeware: IZArc2Go is completely portable, so it doesn’t have to be installed or uninstalled. It can be copied to USB drives and similar locations. It can even be your default ZIP tool, as long as you don’t move its folder.
Configuration: The Configuration dialog has tabs for customizing View, Toolbars, Folders, and Program Locations. You can specify an external viewer (Notepad by default) and an optional antivirus scanner.
UnSFX: The UnSFX tool converts self-extracting archives back into standard archives.
CONS
Light on extras: While IZArc2Go’s small footprint keeps it fast and nimble, it’s a bit light on extra features, compared to other free ZIP tools. Users with special needs may require a more complete package.
Portable: Portability has many advantages, but an installed and registered program (such as IZArc) is a better choice as a default compression utility.
BOTTOM LINE
IZArc2Go can serve as your primary ZIP tool, but it’s much more at home in a portable PC toolkit or USB support drive. However you use it, IZArc2Go is a capable, no-nonsense tool.
