Frozen Fruits 2
The dozens of levels in Frozen Fruits 2 can occupy most puzzle addicts for hours. The game combines Arkanoid-style brick-busting with challenging puzzles and a taste of adventure gaming. Your ball can only destroy bricks that match its color, and touching a matching skull ends your attempt. Arrow keys let you swerve the ball in midflight. To destroy all the bricks, you must use color switches, bombs, and arrow plates. You only can move on to the next group of boards when you have completed enough games to bust through the wooden blocks blocking your progress. The interface looks just like the original Frozen Fruits, but the user-created levels are much more challenging. Despite the fact Frozen Fruits 2 appeared to crash each time we exited during testing, it still automatically saved our progress. The installation puts a shortcut to the publisher’s site onto your desktop. Still, the graphics are simple and colorful, and the soundtrack is arcade cool. This clever rethinking of Arkanoid should please puzzle fans.
